| Unbelievably Easy Roast Beef |
[Dec 23 2009 / 12:44am] |

I present to you all a Christmas roast. It's the perfect holiday meal. This roast beef is rich and flavorful, while still very buttery and tender without actually using any butter! Believe it, friends, for I speak the truth. This roast beef is perfection. I had never made a roast beef before, so I was extremely happy with this meal. The outside was crusty, lightly spicy, and expertly seasoned. You don't need a lot of fancy ingredients for this roast beef; you probably already have all of the ingredients in your pantry. I served this with mashed potatoes and Kramer and I were in heaven. The best part about this roast beef are the sandwiches you can make with it the next day. There's nothing better! If you're making Christmas dinner on Friday and still unsure as to what to make, this is the recipe, I promise! Recipe after the cut or on my blog at The Crepes of Wrath.
Happy Holidays!

| extensions. |
[Dec 22 2009 / 7:41pm] |
Hi i think there's a post about proper hair extensions in the tags but it was made like a year ago so i figured more people might have had them/know about them now.
right basically i've just got some money that i didn't know i was going to get so i want to treat myself (otherwise i wouldn't even be contemplating this) &i've been looking into proper hair extensions, as in not the clip in type. does anyone have any stories about them? horror or otherwise. how much on average do they cost? my hair is pretty thick so would it cost more because of this etc? &what type is best? aftercare? i don't want to end up with ratty horrible OBV FAKE hair.
in short, tell me stuff about real/long term hair extensions.

How are custom charges worked out? I want to order a tee from America but I don't want an expensive custom charge surprise when it gets here.

| Rabbit and Buckwheat Pancakes (Toronto) |

With blueberries, ricotta(?), rabbit chunks and pork/bacon type things.
The smell when it hit the table was incredible. Quite a nice dish, we couldn't finish it. I found the pancakes okay and the concept really good. But what I loved were what I assume are the toasty piggy/bacon curls on top. More of that please!

| Thigh length jumper help needed! |
[Dec 22 2009 / 1:38pm] |
Hello everyone. I'm new here, so I think I'd better start with an introduction. I'm Fran and I'm 15 from Essex.
Basically, I really want to buy this thigh length jumper from Topshop, but I don't know what I would wear it with. Leggings or jeans? Also, as it is a jumper, could you wear another layer over the top or not, such as a cropped jacket? I really don't like buying an item of clothing unless I have an idea in my head of what the whole look will be (control freak, I know.) Please help! All suggestions are welcome.

Thumbprint Cookies

Cranberry Almond Cookies

These are some of the holiday cookies we made for our office friends. Not pictured but also included were two kinds of brownies, white chocolate macadamia nut cookies, and orange chocolate marzipan star-shaped cookies dipped in chocolate.
Cherry Almond Cookie recipe (obviously we swapped out cranberries for cherries); Thumbprint Cream Cheese Cookies recipe (swapped out orange peel and zest for the lemon).

| gift for a new dad? |
[Dec 22 2009 / 12:59pm] |

Friends of mine are expecting their second child at the end of January, and as well as a little something for the baby I'll get something for the mum and also for their other child (who will be almost three when the baby arrives) so that he doesn't feel left out - but I think I should get something for dad too! Obviously I don't want to spend loads as I'm getting 4 presents; I'm getting a little toy and some cute bibs for baby, this for mum and a cuddly toy of some description for their other child. I was thinking maybe earplugs and a sleep mask for dad - does anyone have any ideas? Highstreet, not online please!
Thanks!

This nut cracker has been around forever! You can see the rust on the handle! My dad always put this out at Christmas. Now, I do the same. It is funny how tastes take you back.

Its winter break and I decided to experiment in the kitchen. My brother and I made these sugar cookies a few days back.
I also made okonomiyaki, a Japanese vegetable pancake. It was topped with okonomiyaki sauce, mayo and seaweed flakes.

| Oreo Truffle Snowmen |
[Dec 21 2009 / 10:04pm] |
Every now and then I get the urge to make something cute. These little snowpeople were the result of just such an urge :) They're golden oreo truffles, decorated up and served on a platter with coconut "snow."
Had some issues throughout the recipe, so it took forever to finish, but after I saw how adorable the first one was, I couldn't given up!! They were very tasty; my boyfriend's already clamoring for more.

( recipes and photo )
To read more about this recipe and see more sweet snowpeople (including a college graduate snowman and my favorite exuberant snowman), please head over to my baking blog, Willow Bird Baking!
